This is a great opportunity for groups to work together. Survey volunteers work with the Festival Survey Committee to collect festival patron feedback. The infomation gathered is used to improve event logistics and secure sponsorships. Volunteers will be asked to collect at least fifteen surveys per shift. Great customer service is required! Volunteers working in this area will be given on-site training to assist in their success. Depending on weather conditions, it is recommended you wear a hat or visor and plenty of sunscreen.
Beverage Volunteers work with the on-site Beverage Committee to re-stock beverage booths, tally inventory and deliver ice to beverage booths as needed, etc. Must be able to lift heavy items. Perks include rides in Art City Austin golf carts!
Shaded and seated volunteer opportunity greeting and checking credentials/badges of patrons for entry into the VIP area of the festival. Volunteers must be able to pleasantly but firmly refuse entry to anyone without proper credentials.
Floater volunteers are essential to the festival's success as they help to fill in areas where extra volunteers may be needed throughout the festival site. Volunteers signing up for this shift must be flexible and willing to help out wherever they are needed.
Front Gate volunteers work with the Front Gate Committee to collect patron tickets, greet guests and distribute event programs. Volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time and provide great customer service. Volunteers working in this area should familarize themselves with the festival layout and be able to direct guests to the Food Court, Art Activity Area, Music Stage and Information Booth. Depending on weather conditions, it is recommended you wear a hat or visor and plenty of sunscreen.
Information Booth volunteers work with the Information Committee to answer festival patron questions and provide great customer service. Information Booth volunteers will be given a list of frequently asked questions and will be asked to attend a training session prior to the event. Perks: Chairs and a shaded tent! Volunteers working in this area should familiarize themselves with the festival layout and be able to direct guests to the Food Court, Art Activity Area, Music Stage, EMS and Restrooms. Depending on weather conditions, it is recommended you wear a hat or visor and plenty of sunscreen.
Volunteer Hosts work with the Volunteer Committee to check volunteers into the festival, distribute name badges and direct volunteers to their assigned area. The volunteer position requires great customer service and the ability to work well under pressure as volunteers tend to arrive in waves. Volunteers working in this area should familarize themselves with the festival layout and be able to direct guests to their volunteer areas. Most of the time will be spent under a shaded tent, with chairs. Depending on weather conditions, it is recommended you wear a hat or visor and plenty of sunscreen.
